EL SALVADOR
EL SALVADOR
Story
Under the shadow of the Santa Ana volcano, among the mountainous enclave that is El Salvador, lays a small collection of coffee farms called the Mapache Estate. Small but mighty, El Salvador may be the smallest country in Central America, but its coffee heritage is strong with original coffee crops being planted as far back as the late 1700’s. Rooted in hundreds of years of coffee growing history, our Salvadoran specialty beans are sure to impress your palate.
Bean
Grown in the Apaneca Ilamatepec region along the northern border, the first taste of this coffee is fruit filled and fresh, with a sweet milk chocolate finish. Subtle notes of cinnamon round out the distinct flavor profile. The gentle growing conditions and shady nature of the area imbue natural sweetness into the beans and the constant volcanic activity makes each cup just a little bit unique.
Region
Grown at 1,200-to-1,400-meter elevation, Mapache Estate is comprised of six farms or growing areas. This specialty coffee is comprised of single-origin Bourbon, Pacas, and Pacamara beans, with our Ultimo range Pacas and Pacamara beans born in and solely grown in El Salvador.
